How do I create an administrator?

D
Written by Daria Nasedkina

Overview

Administrators are existing users who've been given extra access to help manage the LMS. You create one by assigning an administrator profile to a user. To learn more about the available admin types, see What administrator profiles exist?

Want to limit an administrator to a specific segment of users? Create a segment administrator instead — see How do I create a segment administrator?

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Go to your Atlas admin page.

  2. Click Users in the left-hand menu.

  3. Use the search bar to find the user, then click the three dots in the Actions column and select View/Edit User Details.

  4. Scroll down to Access rights and select the access rights you want to give the user.

  5. Click Save changes.

Note: Administrator access applies immediately, though the user may need to log out and back in for changes to take full effect. Atlas doesn't notify them of their new rights, so let them know directly if needed.
