Assessments are enabled by default when you add a course, so there's nothing additional to set up. An assessment will start automatically after a user finishes the course and completes the test. You can turn automatic start off (or back on) per course.
Step-by-step instructions
Go to Settings.
In the Courses section, click Course settings.
Click the title of the course whose assessment you want to update.
In the Related assessment section, choose whether the assessment starts automatically:
To enable automatic start, select the check box.
To disable automatic start, clear the check box.
Click Save changes.
