How do I enable automatic self-registration for my users?

Written by Daria Nasedkina

With automatic (unmoderated) self-registration, users who register through the link you share are added and activated immediately — nothing further is needed from you. This is the quickest way to onboard a lot of people at once. For a comparison of the two routes, see What is self-registration?

If you'd rather approve each user before they get access, use moderated self-registration instead. See How do I enable moderated self-registration for my users?

Step-by-step instructions

⚠ The steps below depend on how you log in — check yours before you start.

Look at the web address you use to log in:

If you log in at atlas-hub.co.uk

Step 1: Set up self-registration

  1. Go to Users.

  2. Click the three dots in the top right corner and select Configure Self Registration.

  3. Select Unmoderated.

Step 2: Share the link with your users

Share the registration link with your users via your regular communication channels. Below are two email templates you can use:

If you log in at app.ihasco.co.uk

FAQ

Do I need to approve users who register automatically?

No. With automatic (unmoderated) self-registration, accounts are active as soon as the user registers. If you'd like to approve each user first, use moderated self-registration instead. See How do I enable moderated self-registration for my users?

How do users know they can start training?

  • Email users are notified automatically by Atlas — their account activates immediately and they receive a welcome email with login instructions.

  • Username (no email) users can access their training straight away using the credentials they created, as their account is active immediately.

A user gets an "Account not created, please contact your administrator" error — what should they do?

This usually means the username they picked is already taken. Suggest they try a variation, such as adding numbers to the end — for example, Sam.Smith22.

Can the self-registration link include our company name?

Unfortunately, not at the moment.
