The New Sessions setting determines whether learners can restart a training course during the training interval period. For more about the training interval, see How do I set a course training interval?
This is a global course setting only.
What each option does
When New Sessions is enabled
The training course stays locked until 30 days before the certificate's expiry date. At that point, the course status changes to "Expiring Soon", the course unlocks, and the learner is emailed to say they can restart their training.
When New Sessions is disabled
The course is unlocked, so learners can restart it at any time during the training interval and earn a new certificate. Each restart deducts a credit from your account, and the learner's previous certificate is archived.
Note: Learners can review course content for up to 7 days after completing it, without starting a new training session.
Step-by-step instructions
Click the Settings tab in the side menu, or the ⚙ Settings icon in the top-right corner.
In the GENERAL section, click Global settings.
In the TRAINING section, find New sessions and choose to lock or unlock:
To lock learners from starting new sessions, select the check box.
To unlock learners to start new sessions, clear the check box.
Click Save changes.
