If someone's circumstances change — for example, they've been given a work email address since you first set them up — you can update how they sign in. As an administrator, you can switch a user from a username to an email address yourself, following the steps below.

Step-by-step instructions
Go to your Atlas admin page.
Go to Users in the left-hand menu.
Use the search bar to find the user whose sign-in method you want to change.
Click the three dots button in the Actions column on the right of their row and select View/Edit User.
Scroll down to the Platform Access section.
Toggle Has email to Yes, then enter the user's email address.
Click Save details to update their profile.
Note: Once saved, the automated email with log-in instructions is sent to the user immediately.
