Atlas is an online service, so your users can log in from anywhere with an internet connection — at home, while travelling, or in the office. Some organisations might want to limit this.
For example, you might want learners to log in only from your training rooms, or administrators to log in only from your offices. If your devices use fixed IP addresses, you can do this with IP address restrictions, which limit Atlas login to a custom list of IP addresses.
Note: Every device that connects to the internet has an IP address — four sets of numbers separated by full stops, for example 192.168.1.15. We recommend getting advice from your IT department before restricting access this way.
Step-by-step instructions
Go to Settings.
In the Advanced section, click Security.
In the IP address restrictions section, in the Allowed IP Addresses box type the allowed IP addresses — for example, 192.168.100.15.
To restrict administrators to these IP addresses, select the LMS Administration check box.
To restrict learners to these IP addresses, select the LMS training suite check box.
Click Save changes.
Note: This change takes effect immediately. The next time your learners and administrators log in, their IP address is checked against the IP address restrictions setting.
