How do I resolve assessment issues?

When a learner flags an issue in their assessment that they can't resolve themselves, it's passed to an administrator to review. You can resolve issues at any time until the assessment is completed, either one at a time or all at once.

How do I know if a learner reported an issue?

Once a learner completes their assessment, their progress bar appears full. Its colour tells you whether they flagged anything:

  • Green bar — no issues reported.

  • Orange bar — issues that need your attention.

Step-by-step instructions

Resolving issues individually

  1. Go to Assessments.

  2. Filter to find the learner, then click Open on the right of their details.

  3. Find flagged questions by scrolling or clicking a topic in the Outline — a dot marks any topic with a reported issue.

  4. Read the issue and the learner's comments, then either:

    • Add a comment: click Add a comment, then Send (visible to the learner).

    • Mark an action: click the Mark as arrow and select Resolved, Acceptable risk, or Not applicable.

  5. Work through the remaining questions the same way.

  6. When all issues are resolved, a pop-up prompts you to finish — click Complete assessment.

  7. Click Exit at the top of the page to leave.

Resolving issues in bulk for one user

If an assessment has more than one unresolved issue, you can apply a single action and comment to all of them at once.

  1. Go to Assessments.

  2. Find the user and click Open on the right of their details.

  3. Click the menu icon to the right of the Exit button.

  4. Select Mark all unresolved issues as… and choose Resolved, Acceptable risk, or Not applicable.

  5. Add a comment to explain your action, then click Apply.

Questions that need resolving are labelled with an alert symbol and the text An action is required.
