How do I use the video controls?

Overview

The video player appears on the training session page and is available on video content once you start your training.

The video controls explained

  1. Play/Pause — click to pause or play the video.

  2. Speaker — click the speaker icon to mute or unmute the audio.

  3. Volume — point to the speaker icon to reveal the volume slider, then move it right to increase or left to decrease the volume.

  4. Timeline — move the slider right to fast-forward or left to rewind. This may not be possible if your organisation has disabled skipping.

  5. Additional content marker — point to the marker for details, or click it to open the additional content. These appear only on certain videos that have additional content.

  6. Time remaining — shows how much time is left in the video.

  7. Subtitles — point to the Subtitles icon, then click Subtitles on to enable them. Subtitles are shown in your preferred language. If you want to change the language of your subtitles, see How do I change my language preference?

  8. Fullscreen — click to enlarge the video to fill the screen, or to return it to normal size.

FAQ

Why can't I fast-forward or skip ahead?

Your organisation may have disabled skipping so that learners watch the full content. In that case the timeline slider won't let you jump ahead, though you can still rewind to rewatch.

Can I watch with subtitles in my own language?

Yes. Point to the Subtitles icon and click Subtitles on — they'll show in your preferred language. To change that language, see How do I change a language?

The video has no sound — what should I check?

Check the speaker icon isn't muted, and that the volume slider isn't turned all the way down. Also check your device's own volume.
