Overview
When you add a new required reading document, you can automatically let learners know about it. This is switched on with the New required reading option in your daily automated emails.
This is a one-off notification about new documents. Each night the system checks for newly-added required reading and, if it finds any, emails the affected learners.
It doesn't keep reminding them about documents they still haven't read — for that, use the weekly unread documents reminder. See How do I remind learners about unread required reading?
Note: Daily summary emails are generated overnight and are sent out the next morning. Emails won't be sent immediately after you've added new resources.
